Dear Aaron,

I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate everything you have done to fix each and every issue happening in my house!  As you know there were several different things going on that needed to be addressed and it took a lot of time to inspect and get it right.

I work for a roofing magazine and I read all the time about nightmare stories with contractors.  I have had them myself, however, you set the example as to how a professional contractor should run a solid clean business.

I also appreciate how you took the time to really dig into the attic and truly understand the nature of the problem and come up with the answer that was specific to my house.  Your team was extremely professional, courteous and I was shocked to see how well they cleaned up after themselves!

You and your team, hands down, exceeded my expectations!

Thank you very much for an amazing job well done and anyone who hires you will know you really do treat their house like it’s your own.

Most Sincerely,

Jill A. Bloom

Just wanted to let you know we are VERY happy with the work from all the Fiberglass staff. Aaron did a great job finding ways to improve our home.

Jeremy did a great job with the spray foam. Jason and Dan made sure I checked everything and was happy before they finished. Them even stayed and cleaned up – they were great. Dan Starick was willing to work on our access door on Sunday. I’ll definitely use Dan and Fiberglass when we finish our bonus room and basement.

The guys showed up on time, worked hard and cleaned up. All items quoted were done as promised.

Am I happy with all the Fiberclass staff – Yes. Would I recommend them – I already did.

Thank you,
Xavier Cardenas

I wanted to say thanks for taking the time to do such a complete evaluation of the moisture problem we were having in our attic.  I wanted to let you know we had a great experience!  The siding guys came out and performed the work quickly and pointed out that in addition to the painted over vent covers, our actual vent openings were only about 3 inches in diameter.  The guys opened these up more and vastly improved the ventalation in the attic.  The insulation guys came out and were quick and very clean.  They took the time to lay out plastic on the carpet to minimize any mess plus were really great about cleaning up after themselves.

We are definitely noticing a big difference since the work was done and have been able to adjust our thermostate accordingly.  We're actually a bit excited to see our next heat bill to see if we see an improvement.

I was very happy with the work performed.  The workers were very polite and professional.  The work was completed quickly and as expected.  My overall experience was very good and I would always consider Fiberclass before another company for any building needs.  I highly recommend their work.

NEWSLETTER

This week we finally got insulation in our new building. I cannot think of a more dramatic illustration of energy savings and energy wasted. Throughout this winter we have been working in the building with the thermostat at 54 degrees. At night we roll it back to 45. Without insulation, the little bit of heat in the building escaped rapidly. It was alright if we were keeping busy, but as we sat down, the cold would set in.  After a work day, only a long hot shower (and maybe a hot toddy) could get the chill out of the marrow of these aging bones.

Needless to say, we were ecstatic when the insulators finally arrived.  We chose Fiberclass Contracting to do our work. In our side walls, we had them fill the stud wall cavities with Spraytite 178 which is a closed cell polyurethane foam.  Since our building’s origins are a traditional stick built house, those wall cavities are only 3 1/2 to 4 inches deep.  With the closed cell foam, we maximize our R value (19.5) and minimize air infiltration (R values do not account for air infiltration) and fill the wall cavities. We also get the benefit of the foam acting as a moisture barrier and as an additional structural component to the walls. Our Spraytite system uses an EPA approved, zero ozone-depleting blowing agent. The studs of our building were sealed and caulked wherever there was a possibility for air infiltration.

In our cathedral ceilings, we had the luxury of a deep rafter space of at least 12 inches, so we chose a cellulose product called Cocoon by GreenFiber made from 85% engineered paper fiber obtained from recycled newspapers and paper products and made from locally available materials.  The product is manufactured in a manner as to reduce dust and to have the fibers more uniform in size. The fibers maintain their uniformity and their ability to block air infiltration over the course of time. They do not compress or lose their effectiveness, either. We now have airtight ceilings with an R value of 40.

Without changing the thermostat, the building is much warmer now. It is a great example of why you should spend as much time worrying about air infiltration into your home as adding insulation. Drafts make you colder. I am pleased with the choices we made. The end result is a very tight, sturdy, dry and cozy building envelope that will be enjoyed for years to come.
